The Craddock Family, LondonThe house was great, perfect for our family of parents, children and grandparents. Looe is a great base to explore Cornwall from. The house itself is a short walk to Looe centre. Inside it was modern and luxurious. Would highly recommend.
Kitchen and Dining Room
Bright, spacious and perfect for sociable cooking, the Kitchen and Dining Room is full of gadgets, from a Nespresso Magimix coffee machine to a Caple wine cooler. Extremely well equipped, the Siemens induction hob, oven, combi microwave/oven, dishwasher and double fridge/freezer make for stress-free meal preparation, while the kitchen bar stools and dining table provide plenty of space from breakfast through to dinner. Make the most of the direct outside access through the sleek bi-fold doors and head out onto the terrace with a cup of tea or chilled glass of wine.
Please note: guests with pacemakers should avoid using the induction hob as this can interfere with the device.
Sitting Room
Chic coastal design is at the heart of this room, from the cool grey tones of the interiors to the glorious sea views beyond. Open the electronic Louvalite blinds to watch the Cornish boats bob along the water on a calm afternoon or sink into one of the inviting sofas with a good book. Bedroom Four with En-suite
With sweeping views across the beautiful Looe Island and its vast surrounding ocean, this chic and spacious bedroom features a lovely balcony and bi-fold doors. A flat screen TV and XBox One provides plenty of entertainment options in this bright and airy bedroom, which benefits from a zip and link bed, as well as slick concealed wardrobes with sliding doors.
Bathroom
Floor-to-ceiling tiles in soft neutral shades give this bathroom a calming and relaxed feel, complete with a large bath, separate walk-in shower and plenty of light from the expansive window.
Bedroom One with En-suite
A private sanctuary occupying the second floor, Bedroom One is exceedingly spacious and features mesmerising ocean views. Open up the Juliet balcony doors and watch the sea meet the sand over morning coffee, or settle into the large L-shaped sofa for a spot of storm watching when the weather takes a turn.
A tasteful colour palette of muted purples and greys give Bedroom One an instantly relaxing feel, with plush cushions and a lavender throw adorning the inviting super king size bed. Enjoy the built in Control Four music system or switch on the large flat screen TV to catch a film before bed. There’s also an abundance of storage and hanging space in the walk-in wardrobe.
Equally spacious, the en-suite bathroom includes a spectacular free-standing Saneux bath made from crushed mineral marble. Savour a candlelit soak as night falls and feel the worries of everyday life melt away.
Garden and Parking
Push open the bi-fold doors in the Kitchen and Dining Room to reveal a beautiful tiered garden, as a series of grass lawns and plants line the ascent to the bubbling hot tub. The perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day, bring together family and friends and admire the sweeping sea views from a truly unique vantage point.
The double garage has plenty of space to park up to two cars at Oceans Edge, while a 32a commando socket provides charging for electric vehicles.
Please note that due to the location of Oceans Edge, there are steps up to the front door of the property and the rear garden is steeply terraced. Every effort has been made to enhance the outside space and to ensure it is as family friendly as possible; providing enjoyable areas for relaxation whilst maximising the wonderful views. However, unfortunately the external garden areas are not suitable for visitors with limited mobility due to the number of steps and steep gradient.
Hot tubs: *Please note the hot tub is emptied and cleaned out after every booking. Occasionally this may result in the hot tub not being up to maximum temperature on the first night of your arrival.

Things to do in and around
Animal lovers are spoilt for choice in this area with the Monkey Sanctuary and Horse Hacking centre in Looe as well as the Plymouth Aquarium and Newquay Aquarium and Newquay Zoo just a short drive away.
Staying closer to home; head down to Looe harbour and jump on one of the many fishing boats heading out for their daily catch. Hire watersport equipment from the nearby Black Rock beach to take out into the bay or kayak down the picturesque East Looe river out onto the expanse of ocean.
For a more relaxing ride and views of the East Looe river from comfort of your seat jump aboard the spectacular Hidden Valley Line from Looe to Liskeard; one of the great scenic railways rides in the South West.
Or if you are looking for something a little more thrill seeking the aptly named Adrenalin Quarry is only 16 minutes drive from Looe!
There certainly is enough to keep everyone satisfied in the area!
The lovely Hannafore beach is just in front of the West Looe properties and is dog friendly all year round. Talland Bay is just 3 miles around the coast, boasting two sheltered sand and shingle beaches - Talland Sand and Rotterdam Beach. In an area of outstanding natural beauty these beaches have toilets, a beach cafe and beach shop, and are also dog friendly all year.
Looe beach is a popular family beach on the edge of the busy fishing town. The beach reveals a large expense of sandy beach at low tide and is flanked by Banjo Pier to the west separating it from the pretty river that runs through the town.
The South East Coast boasts fantastic coastal walks for beginners and advanced walkers alike, with rough landscape and stunning views this is the best way to see the coast.
Heading west – Polperro to Looe
A moderate walk from Looe to Polperro takes you on the South West Coastal path past Talland Bay and Portnadler Bay. Passing ruins of a medieval chapel and an early Christian holy site built on an old pilgrim path. This is a straight walk and so you can either head back on yourself or catch a bus at Crumplehorn just past Polperro straight back to Looe. Extend this walk by starting at Crumplehorn through Polperro and Looe and carrying on all the way to Seaton, as below, or save it for another day!
Heading East – Looe to Seaton
Looe to Seaton is around 3.8 miles and takes around 2 ½ hours. Take time in the bays to explore rock pools or take a break on the many seats and picnic tables on route to rest and enjoy the views. This path is slightly more rugged and at times of the year can be overgrown so ensure to be careful on the path, especially during the winter months.
New Year
If you are lucky enough to be in Looe during the New Year get yourself down to the sea front to call in the New Year with hundreds of people who flock to the town for the annual celebration. With fancy dress and parties around the town and fireworks from the seafront at 6pm and midnight this is a party not to be missed.
Looe Music Festival
A 3 day festival in September where local and holidaymakers flock to the South coast for an eclectic mix of music, entertainment and culture! It is a unique festival where watching the main stage involves your feet in the sand and possible the waves lapping at your toes! Looe Music Festival is a not for profit event and aims to promote quality live music.
The fishing town of Looe is renowned for producing great fresh fish with several fish dealers working from the East Looe docks. It is also the home of Shark fishing sine the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain was founded there over 60 years ago. The club aims to not only promote the sport of shark angling but also aims to promote the conservation of sharks with their application of catch and release angling.
Looe is a haven for fresh local seafood, with plenty of great spots to stop for lunch. The Pier Café on Looe beach has a fantastic and varied menu, with Cornish favourites including cream teas and fish and chips available with table service, or to take away.
Other local hotspots include The Ancient Mariner Bistro and The Courtyard, where you can look forward to fresh, seasonal dishes to enjoy just moments from the beach. The Old Sardine Factory is a firm favourite with the locals, with a climbing wall and kayak hire to keep the children entertained long after lunchtime.

Every guest staying with us has access to our very popular complimentary concierge services so that we can help you with local information or book things for you. The items below are just some of things that we can organise for your stay but please call our concierge team for more help and ideas!
We can offer a whole range of additional housekeeper services to suit your requirements. If you are looking for daily or regular housekeeping during your stay, or perhaps more frequent linen and towel changes, then this can normally be provided by our housekeeping partners.
There will be a local service charge to pay to the housekeeping company although our concierge team can organise this for you. n.b. Some housekeeping companies do not always work on Sundays and have a minimum service time.
Babysitting or childcare can be a very important part of a stay, particularly if you would like to go to a great fine dining restaurant or maybe spend a day doing activities that aren’t so child friendly.
We have access to a number of childcare professionals or local babysitters that live locally to all of our properties. n.b. Due to insurance reasons, we only pass on names and numbers and leave you to make the final decision on who to employ.
If you would like to do any cycling during your stay, we can organise bike hire for you. We can arrange to have a range of bikes and accessories delivered to the house, or if you want to just turn up somewhere and cycle, we can arrange for them to be dropped off and collected from any location in Cornwall.
If you would like to hire surf boards, stand-up paddle boards or kayaks during your stay, we can organise this for you. Surfing is the ultimate holiday sport and kayaking is a great way to explore the beautiful coastline or waterways near your holiday home.
We strongly recommend that you always obtain professional lessons before ever taking to the water, which we can also organise for you.
Whether its a private boat charter to enjoy a relaxing afternoon exploring the coastline, a day out at sea to catch some big fish for your tea, or a high speed ride on a rib searching for wildlife, we can arrange it for you!
Why not try a bread making class in the luxury of your Beach House. A chef tutor will visit the house with all the necessary ingredients and equipment, and teach you how to make delicious fresh bread or work with you on how to master a particular type of bread. The great thing about learning within one of our houses is that not only is there no travelling, its a much more personal experience. n.b. Prices start from £75 per person, minimum of two participants although one to one lessons can be agreed.
Chef Prepared Dinners is a very flexible bespoke food service. The way that it works is that you discuss what food you would like with one of our partner chefs, they prepare it and then deliver it to you on the agreed day, together with cooking instructions!
All you have to do is turn on the cooker for items that need cooking, follow a few simple instructions and then hey presto, a gourmet banquet is on the table! As well as gourmet food, you can also order simple homemade dishes as well.
Our concierge team can recommend the best restaurants in the area to help you get the most out of your stay and we’ll even take care of all of the reservations for you too.
Let us know where you would like to go and we can take all of the hassle out of organising your group and make those all important bookings on your behalf. We have great connections with all of the local restaurants so where possible we will make sure you get the best table and that all your needs are catered for.
If you are bringing the family dog away on holiday with you to one of our dog friendly properties and you want go somewhere for the day/evening that does not permit dogs, we can organise a dog sitter to look after your dog and keep it company while you are out!

To save space in the car, allow us to stock the wine fridge up for your arrival. We work with a small number of local wine merchants who will deliver to your Beach House or work with our local services company to get the deliveries to you.
As well as being a space and time saving service, it can also give you greater access to locally made wines and spirits which you may not have come across before.
If you decide to fly or get the train to your holiday home destination we can help to organise car hire for your stay to help you explore the local area. We can also book taxis for transfers to and from the airport/train station, as well as booking taxis to get you to and from your dinner reservations or anywhere else you like.

Our concierge team can advise on where you can find all the best local watersport activities available such as stand up paddleboarding, jet skis, kayaking, coasteering, waterskiing, wakeboarding, ringos, sailing, powerboat courses and much more.

Delicious Wood Fired Pizzas take on average just 90 seconds to cook! Our partner chef will turn up to your Beach House (in rain or shine!) and set up the mobile wood fired pizza oven and gazebos. After around an hour, it’s ready to go and pizza all round.
This is a real fun and interactive food experience that can involve the whole family. You can prepare the dough, decorate it with you personal pizza topping and then cook it as well. The wood fired oven is very portable and can be placed in most locations.
