With its striking curved roof and timber clad exterior, Sundown is immediately welcoming. Inside, the décor is effortlessly cool; beautiful urban pieces happily sit alongside coastal touches with light ash flooring underfoot that together create a modern and spacious beach house. A clever reverse-style layout allows the open plan kitchen, dining, study and sitting area to feast on views across Widemouth Bay from the first floor, as well as the master bedroom, which enjoys the same great views. A wireless audio SONOS sound system throughout the living areas and master bedroom add the finishing touches to this luxury holiday home.
The ground floor makes great use of space with three bedrooms, all enjoying garden views and sea glimpses. The spacious garden room provides a laid back seating area for unwinding after a long day on the beach and opens out on to the large decked verandah that stretches the length of the house.
There’s plenty of space for games on the front lawn, which makes its way round to the back of the house for a cosy suntrap, while the garage is equipped for table tennis, darts and table football – great for keeping the children entertained.
For those looking for a beach holiday, Sundown is the ultimate home. In a prime position next to the family friendly and popular surfing beach of Widemouth Bay, which spans 1.5 miles, guests can enjoy the simple pleasures of sandcastle building and staggering coastal walks followed by a BBQ on the terrace while the sun slips away.
There are several cafes and surf schools on the beach, meaning there’s little reason to leave Widemouth Bay. But, easy access to the Atlantic Highway provides easy access to Bude, picturesque Port Isaac, Tintagel and Polzeath.

Things to do in and around
Widemouth Bay
Bude is surrounded by beaches, each with its own distinct characteristics and charm, and often backed by rugged cliffs. Widemouth Bay is popular with families and great for surfers, particularly beginners. Stretching 1.5 miles, the beach is actually split into two, the South (Black Rock) is dog friendly all year round, while the North is seasonally dog friendly. The beach also has good facilities with a selection of shops and cafes at hand.
Summerleaze is another popular beach in Bude. Offering a large expanse of sand at low tide, the beach is backed by an open air sea pool and benefits from lots of facilities including the popular Life’s a Beach cafe overlooking the bay.
Catch of the day
Bude is packed full of beach cafes, gourmet coffee shops, gastro pubs and dainty farmhouse tea rooms. There’s no shortage of choice wherever you might find yourself. Right on Widemouth Bay there’s a choice of cafes, fish & chips and a popular pub, The Bay View Inn, overlooking the beach.
For a special meal, The Beach at Bude restaurant is a chic and elegant choice, overlooking Summerleaze Beach and serving up delicious plates of locally sourced dishes. Venture a little further afield for an extra special treat and visit Nathan Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen in Port Isaac for some of the freshest seafood.
Whether you’re coming on holiday with the family, or to celebrate a special birthday with friends, treating yourself to an indulgent spa day is the perfect treat. There are a couple of spas nearby offering a range of luxury therapy and beauty treatments.

Mr & Mrs PeckBeautifully presented & very well equipped house, all mod cons & a home from home! Weather was surprisingly good and stunning views also helped to make it a very enjoyable half term holiday.
Nadia & FamilyBeautiful house and spectacular view. Will definitely be back!
Charlotte & FamilyA dry and sunny walk to Bude. Amazing weather, food and company. LOVED the body boarding!
Dave, Al & FamilyHad a fabulous week in this beautiful house. Such an oasis of calm - we don’t want to go back to London!! Will miss the sea air and lovely views. Thank you!
The Bayleys, PooleWe were lucky enough to share a rare family holiday at Sundown, Widemouth Bay. On arrival we were met with a fantastic Welcome Hamper, which included local Cornish goodies. The house was tastefully decorated and had all the mod cons that we needed.
I would highly recommend this property as a luxurious staycation.
The Greenwoods, NorthhamptonWe had a great time. The house was amazing, location great, welcome hamper also amazing (we’ve stayed in a lot of cottages and definitely the best yet) all in all, ideal for what we wanted, so thanks to you and the owners.
The Gregory Family, WarwickshireWhat a beautiful family-friendly home! We have had a wonderful time on the beach boogy-boarding, walking and playing. The children particularly enjoyed the children’s room with the X-Box.
We are sad to be leaving, but the vote has been cast for coming back next year. Thank you for a super week!
The Sills Family, BristolA wonderful week in your beautiful home, it has been so enjoyed by our extended family. Thank you for sharing it with us.
The Roberts Family, LondonVery cool house! We had a brilliant holiday in this lovely house with such beautiful views. A great hub to explore more of Cornwall from.
The house is well thought-out and spacious and enough for 7 of us to enjoy each other’s company and escape when needed!
The Althoff Family, GermanyWe spent an amazing two weeks and absolutely fell in love with Cornwall and Sundown!
The view is spectacular and - as has been mentioned before - the house is very well thought-out and well equipped. We felt at home immediately and we are already making reservations for next year as I write.
Thank you very much for sharing your lovely home with us. We will be back!
The Humphreys Family, BedfordshireJust a short note to thank you for your help and support before and during our stay in ‘Sundown’ at Widemouth Bay last week. It was much enjoyed by the whole family over three generations from young to old, despite the weather being a little changeable. It made a great base not only for exploring the Bay but also for North Cornwall and at the end of the day a comfy retreat to return to at the end of the day.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations and was first class in all areas from layout, furniture and finishes, included were the little things that are easily overlooked but made the stay that little bit special.
We would not hesitate to use the Beach House Co in the future and stay at Sundown again. We will not hesitate to recommend both to others.
The MacDonald Family, WarwickshireWe have arrived at Sundown this afternoon and would like you to know that we are absolutely delighted with it! It’s a fantastic house with a beautiful view and it has certainly met with our expectations. Thank you also for the excellent welcome pack, it is much appreciated.
